This post was a part of the My Collection series.<\/em><\/p>\n I like 3D Sonic games for some reason. Most of them range from average to bad, but they tend to offer a lot of variety and sometimes will deliver on the promise of Sonic’s speed, at least for his levels. Sonic Adventure is one of the least offensive of the 3D Sonic games, but it definitely hasn’t aged well.<\/p>\n It’s rough around the edges in all respects, but I appreciate the adventure aspects introduced. The overworld creates a sense of exploration without the threat of foes or a timer.<\/p>\n Also, there’s a ton of variety. Sure, you’ll want to speed through each level as Sonic or Tails, but E-102 Gamma offers a unique play-style with lock-on shooting mechanics reminiscent of Panzer Dragoon. Knuckles plays a game of hot and cold while searching for emerald shards and Amy takes a slower approach to the levels, but is equipped with a powerful hammer.<\/p>\n Then, of course, there’s Big the Cat, who you play a fishing mini-game with. Nobody likes him and I don’t blame them. It’s probably the worst mode, but I appreciate that the developers crafted a story around a fishing mini-game.<\/p>\n You can jump around between these different campaigns at will for the most part. So as soon as a character’s gameplay gets repetitive, you switch it up to stay entertained.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" This post was a part of the My Collection series.
